Ethical gift ideas for the ladies

Can I tell you how much fun I had pulling together this little ethical gift guide for you guys?! It was almost as good as actually shopping (almost).

This year, J and I are doing a lot of handmade gifts (i.e. he is in the basement with power tools and I’m upstairs writing this blog post) and I love how special and personal that feels.

I get the same feeling when I know I’m giving a gift with a story. I love knowing the heart behind what a buy and what I give. The brands I chose here all have powerful stories of hope, encouragement and life.

Like Willow Layne—a lingerie brand founded by a 23-year-old (YEAH) in Columbus, Ohio, who believes that every body is beautiful and every woman deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and sexy in her own skin.

Or like Tubby Todd, a brand that was created as a natural solution for one family’s sensitive skin.

Or the Starfish Project, which provides opportunities and restores hope to women escaping human trafficking and exploitation in Asia.

Or Pixley Pressed, a handmade jewelry line that was born out of a desire to create a piece of jewelry that would represent life’s biggest moments.

I hope that this holiday, you’ll invest in gifts with meaning and heart. There’s nothing better than giving a gift with a story—a gift you know has truly changed a life. Happy gifting!

What’s your favorite gift you’ve ever given to someone?
