What did I pack in my hospital bag?

water bottle // Perfect bars // ABLE Alem backpack // Girlfriend Collective sweatshirt and joggers // Everlane terry cloth top and short // Primally Pure lip balm (use code DANIELLA to save on Primally Pure) // Primally Pure plumping mist // AirPods Pro // Everlane slippers

What should you pack for a hospital delivery?

Baby Girl S. will be here any day hour, and it’s safe to say we’ve had our hospital bags packed for a loooong time.

I highly recommend bringing a pair of slippers so you don’t have to wear the hospital-issued socks while you’re a) making laps waiting for baby or b) shuffling to and from the bathroom when you’re in recovery.

One of my best decisions when I had baby no. 1 was bringing a couple of nursing-friendly pajama sets. I treated myself to some new ones for this delivery (Knix and Everlane sets, linked above). Trust me, something cozy yet matching makes you feel a little more human and put together, even if they’re still pajamas.

If you’re on the fence about getting AirPods or another brand of Bluetooth headphones, do it. Being able to literally tune everything else out is a game-changer during labor. Plus, if you’re nursing, you’ll want them to keep you awake when you’re watching your 3 a.m. Netflix shows (again, trust me).

You’ll of course want your regular toiletries and makeup essentials, so I’ve only included things you might not think to pack, like dry shampoo, lip balm (a MUST) and face wipes (instead of face wash, in case you can’t make it to the bathroom to wash your face).

What should you wear home from the hospital?

You’ll see a lot of hospital bag checklists that recommend bringing a robe. I don’t not recommend this, but I think a long cardigan is more practical since robes are so bulky, and the cardigan could double as part of your going home outfit.

Speaking of your going home outfit: Remember that you’ll still look and feel about six months pregnant, so plan accordingly. With my first baby, I wore maternity leggings and a loose-fitting long-sleeve T-shirt home with a pair of slides and it was perfect.
